Crossroads Care Hertfordshire South are looking to expand it's dedicated team of volunteers. If you would like to spend time in a rewarding way and make a difference to the lives of local people within your community then volunteer some time with Crossroads. You will make new friends, develop new skills as well as use existing ones, gain confidence and a valuable addition to you CV. Any out of pocket expenses incurred in participation of any of these roles would be reimbursed. We have various roles that we are looking to fill. Day Service Assistant
Borehamwood Seniors is a local community Day Service held at Fountain Court, Brook Road. click here for more information. Our friendly club needs volunteers to facilitate daily activities, assist with lunchtime duties and to socialise with members. The service is run from Monday to Friday 10am - 3pm, days would be flexible although a degree of committment is required. Any training that may be required would be provided.
Day Service Transport Escort
We are looking for volunteers to escort our senior members to and from the club on the community transport bus. The ideal candidate would need to be physically active and available for approx 1 hour from 9am to 10am and/or 1 hour 3pm - 4pm any days from Monday to Friday.
Aldenham Club Escort
Crossroads Care along with the generous support of Aldenham School Elstree currently provide a weekly Carers Social group. The group is held every Thursday (term time only) 2pm - 4pm where people who may have had a caring role in the past and now find themselves alone can socialise with a lively group and interact with the students from the school. We are looking for an escort to assist our members on and off the community bus that collects the group. The ideal candidate would need to be physically active with a lively personality to participate in activities. Full list of duties available on request.
Crossroads Care Hertfordshire South is based in Borehamwood. We are always looking for volunteers to help in our busy office. Hours and days are flexible. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain confidence and experience within an office environment or perhaps brushing up on skills before returning to work after a long break. General administrative tasks would include photocopying, producing manuals, telephone work, some data entry and meet and greet visitors. Any training required would be provided.
Carers Group Assistant
We have just launched a new Carers Group in the Kings Langley area. It is held at The Toby Carvery, Kings Langley, on the first Monday of each month from 10.30pm to 12.00noon. click here for more details The group is for Carers and the people they care for to come together and make new friends and support each other. The ideal candidate would have a lively personality to encourage interaction and assist with activities and refreshments.
